About the Student Government Association
The Butler University Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the undergraduate student body, advocating for student needs, ideas, and concerns while working to continually improve the Butler experience.
SGA connects students with university leadership, promotes campus unity and belonging, supports student organizations, and addresses important campus issues. Through student advocacy, collaboration, and shared governance, SGA works to ensure undergraduate voices are heard and represented.
How We’re Organized
SGA operates through three independent yet collaborative branches, each playing an important role in representing and serving Butler students.
Led by the President and Vice President, the Executive Branch works to advance SGA’s vision, coordinate initiatives, and carry out organizational priorities.
The Student Senate represents students across academic colleges and class years. Senators advocate for their constituents, address campus concerns, allocate funding to student organizations, and develop policies and resolutions.
The Judicial Branch upholds SGA’s governing documents, oversees student government elections, and reviews matters involving the constitution and the organization’s procedures.
