Senate Spotlight: February 23rd, 2022

Wednesday night's meeting was short yet meaningful.
The Student Senate heard from Daniel Meyers, the Director of Butler University’s Center For Faith and Vocation (CFV). The Student Senate gave Daniel Meyers a warm welcome. It had been a while since the CFV had spoken to SGA. The CFV’s goal is to nurture growth and create an active center on campus for all students regardless of what their spiritual background may be. They seek for students to explore faith in whatever way they choose. The CFV offers a variety of vocational groups for students to join, with most being student-run or part of national organizations. Daniel Meyers encouraged the senators to reflect upon the questions: “Who am I?, Where am I going?, and How can I help (and serve others)?’’ These three questions serve as a guide for students seeking services through the CFV.
The Center for Faith and Vocation is located in the Blue House on Sunset Avenue. They help to fulfill BUBeWell’s mission by providing offerings relating to the wellness and mindfulness components including spiritual care and meditation.
Reflection, mediation, and prayer spaces are available in JH 182 C & D. Follow the CVF’s Instagram account @CenterForFaithandVocation and sign up for their weekly newsletter on their website.
Senators wrapped up the meeting by making announcements about upcoming events for the next week. Several SGA committees will be hosting outreach events in the weeks following spring break.
