The Executive Branch has been working on new projects for this semester. Kyle Kane, a member of Student Engagement, shares that their parking services tabling event last week was a success. Using the data from the conducted surveys, they can create helpful resources for parking services and help address the current parking issues on campus.
Director of Mental Health and Well-Being, Julia Fryrear, discusses the recent DEI collab they held with DESB. This event educated SGA on how mental health is individualized. Fryrear shares that members learned about mental health and how each person’s experience varies from one another. The event was a great way to not only inform students but also to explore ways for friends, family, and peers to help. In addition to this event, The University Club also hosted the successful Paws and Think event where many students stopped by to pet dogs and get to bond with one another.
The Legislative Branch has been implementing projects for campus improvement in the future. Gracie Walls, The University Life Committee Chair, shares that there is a meeting scheduled with Jason Rose of Bon Appetit to discuss sustainability on campus. There has been a new ice machine installed outside of Plum Market for students and faculty to access. Walls explains that the University Life Committee is waiting on the arrival of an ADA-accessible ramp to be installed in the Reilly Room as well.
