Bike-share Program in the Works

Similar to like programs that exist around Indianapolis, such as Pacers Bikeshare, SGA may soon offer a bike-share program of its own.

Butler University has had bike-share projects in the past: A Butler Collegian article from April 25, 2012, reported that a total of 100 bikes would soon be available at the HRC to check out either for the entire semester or for single days. That program is no longer in existence.

As a successor program, SGA has a bike-share project in the works. Details of what the program would look like are still being determined, as members of SGA who are working on the project are waiting to release information until things are finalized.

Vice President Meet Patel, who is in charge of the project, reports that his team is “still in the process of finalizing some details, gaining university approval for the project, and ensuring this will be available to the student body hopefully at some point this semester.”
